Forest Murmurs
In my endeavour to create more detail in my drawings I have used a new technique. Using pens instead of pencils, my "canvas" was a Gesso Board - a thick board which has several layers of white gesso on top which are then sanded to a very smooth finish. This provides a surface that can be worked on harder than paper but also scratched away to reveal clean white through the drawing. A Yorkshire Break!

New Sunshine Range
I have several digital paintings set in the Lake District that follow a theme of looking into bright sunshine that have proven to be popular so I have added three new paintings to add to the collection. Friar's Crag, a well known spot on the shore of Derwent Water looking towards Catbells. Striding Edge, the famous ridge heading up Helvellyn. And the Langdale valley with the loveable herdwicks.


A little bolder
So the COVID restrictions continue, meaning lots of time indoors to concentrate on new works. I usually have a sense of needing to not spend too long on a particular piece but now I have all the time I have wanted so I've been concentrating more and pushing myself a little. When I say I've been pushing myself, I mean that I've been bolder in using dark shades to emphasise the light sources. I n this one, "Alpine Stroll", I've filled more near black areas than I would normally


Post Tenebras Lux
With lockdowns and tiers or levels becoming a way of life, I was inspired to do this pencil drawing. The view is from indoors where it's dark and time passes slowly. I'm working on an inspired drawing but my thoughts and sights are to the outdoors where I want to be free, chasing dreams and adventures with my love by my side.
