The Road for Now

For the past few years I've been focusing on my artwork with a view to experimenting, learning and hopefully improving my technique while taking inspiration from fellow artists and searching for my own particular style that I'm comfortable with.

Looking back, I'm genuinely amazed and proud of the improvements I've made in myself and while I'm by no means at the end of the learning curve, I'm certainly along a path that I'm happy to be taking. I'll never be (and have never claimed to be) a top class artist with followers of many thousands, and I'm unlikely to be one, particularly in this age where you need to be an expert of algorithms to get seen anymore (if you're reading this then well done, you're probably the only one!).

I am, however, happy with what I do and am always grateful and delighted when the occasional kind comment that comes my way, and especially thrilled when someone purchases an artwork, choosing to have one of my works hanging in their home and taking pleasure from it.

Having recently passed a milestone birthday, I have now decided to continue with my chosen style which I have honed over the years and feel most comfortable in. I love working with pen and pencil. I'm much more comfortable with monochromatic artworks than colour. I enjoy the challenge of details, light and textures. And above all, I love scenery that is European based; probably because I've never travelled to other continents.

Below are some of my latest artworks which are all similar in style. I may trial other techniques in time but for now, this is the road that I'm taking for now.
