One of my favourite towns to visit in Italy is San Gimignano in Tuscany. The hilltop town once boasted 72 towers during the Renaissance making it resemble the modern New York skyline but less than a dozen are left now. It's still a wonderfully medieval place. This drawing is from one of the towers looking down on the rooftops at night.
