By the banks of the Dordogne in France is the Chateau of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, sitting atop a small hill with the medieval village below. It's a scene that appeals to every landscape artist and I just had to do my own service to it. However, I was strangely inspired by the local shops selling plastic knights in armour, wooden swords and other various part-you-from-your-money trinkets and somehow couldn't shake the image of a dragon attacking said castle. So here it is, a fantasy dragon breathing fire on the quaint castle while the villagers below who, instead of selling tacky souvenirs, are fending off an army horde from their protective walls (those are added for visual effect).

And I have to confess. I came home with a plastic knight.
