I have been increasingly using Claybord as an alternative surface to paper. Similar to scratch board, it has a more porous surface and allows for placing many tones and detail by pen but also then can be scored and scratched to create bright highlights. I indulged myself with this forest scene and loved the ability to create the sunlight by using a fine sandpaper. I love the quiet setting and can almost hear a breeze moving through creating forest murmurs.
